Privacy Policy

What data TryVue collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how long it is kept. Built to meet WordPress.org and GDPR expectations.

1. Who we are

TryVue is a WordPress plugin for WooCommerce that adds AI-powered virtual try-on, product photography and a shopping assistant to your store. The plugin is operated by TryVue ("we", "us", "our"). For privacy questions, contact us through the customer portal.

2. Who this policy applies to

This policy covers two groups:
  • Merchants — the person or business that installs TryVue, creates an account and operates the WooCommerce store.
  • Shoppers — visitors to the merchant's store who use the try-on studio, the AI shopping assistant or any other TryVue feature.
The merchant is the data controller for shopper data. TryVue processes that data on behalf of the merchant.

3. What data we collect and why

4. How we process shopper photos

When a shopper uploads a photo for a try-on or vision search, the image is sent from their browser to the merchant's WordPress site, then forwarded to TryVue's infrastructure for generation. The photo is used only to produce the requested result. It is not used to train AI models, sold, or shared with other merchants. By default, the original shopper photo is not retained after the generation completes.

5. Where generated images live

Try-on results are served to the shopper temporarily so they can view and download them. AI Product Studio outputs are different: once approved by the merchant, they are re-encoded and imported as ordinary files into the merchant's own WordPress Media Library. The merchant owns those files and controls them through WordPress.

6. Third-party services

TryVue uses the following categories of providers:
  • AI generation infrastructure. Images are generated through frontier image/video models hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. When a merchant enables BYOK (Bring Your Own Key), generations run through the merchant's own fal.ai account; TryVue does not hold that key.
  • Cloud hosting and payment processing. Our platform runs on managed cloud services. Credit purchases and subscription payments are handled by the merchant's own WooCommerce checkout and payment provider.
  • Communications. License transfer confirmations and support replies are sent through transactional email providers.
We only share the minimum data required and we require all providers to handle data securely and in line with this policy.

7. Data retention

  • Account data: kept while the merchant account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle billing, tax and legal obligations.
  • Shopper photos: not retained after the generation result is delivered, unless the merchant explicitly enables a storage feature.
  • Product Studio outputs: stored in the merchant's WordPress Media Library as local files.
  • Credit ledger and generation logs: retained for auditing, support and fraud prevention.

8. Security

TryVue uses HMAC-signed, single-use requests between the plugin and our API. API keys are never stored inside WordPress. All data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Activation and license transfers require email-verified confirmation codes. See our Security page for the full engineering overview.

9. Cookies and local storage

The plugin does not place advertising or analytics cookies. It uses only the cookies and local storage items strictly necessary for security tokens, session state and the shopper's try-on session. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded by TryVue.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your personal data. Merchants can request account data changes through the customer portal. Shoppers should contact the merchant store owner directly, since the merchant controls the WooCommerce site.

11. Children's privacy

TryVue is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the plugin evolves. Material changes will be announced in the customer portal and, where appropriate, by email. The date at the top of this page shows the last revision.
